On Saturday 11th June the Bishop of Worcester, the Rt Revd Dr John Inge, led a Special Centenary Service to mark the re-dedication/consecration of
St Martin's Church Worcester. (see the webpage and phot gallery) This was the culmination of two years of celebrations. The Archdeacon, clergy, past and present, from St Martin's, the Deanery and the Diocese plus local dignitaries attended the Eucharistic Service which concluded with a celebratory buffet lunch -
to which all were invited.
As part of the Centenary celebrations, St Martin's is holding a series of Centenary Lectures.
The first lecture was given by the Dean of Worcester, the Very Reverend Peter Atkinson.

The Rector of St Martin’s, Canon Ken Boyce, explains:
“As part of our commemorations of St Martin's Centenary, we have invited various speakers, each with a particular interest or expertise, to reflect on significant developments of attitudes or theological thought during the last hundred years. But first, the Dean of Worcester asks us whether anything at all can be learnt from the past …”
The Centenary Lectures are to be held in St Martin’s Church and are open to everyone commencing at 7 pm – admission free - details as below;

d) Wednesday 6th July – The Revd Dr John Polkinghorne, former Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Cambridge – ‘Science and Religion’
