Dear Friends,
Come & Join Us Sunday - 26th September 2010 is now only a fortnight away and our church members are personally giving invitation cards to their friends and neighbours. Our objective, set nationally with this initiative, namely is "to have an open invitation to everyone to come and join us on 26th September" - the slogan says COME AS YOU ARE! This means each church member, inviting a friend. If this happens, Come & Join Us Sunday will be a success. However at St Martin's all are welcome - with or without an invitation!
There is an article about our Come & Join Us Sunday event in the September edition of our Parish Magazine. The Rector suggests other names such as Welcome Sunday,; Lovely to See You Sunday and specially for 26th September Were You Christened Here Sunday. At 3.30 pmon that Sunday there is a Baptism and a Service for all those baptised in St Martin's over the years - part of our Centenary celebrations - so DO COME. Other services are as usual.
It is recognised that church members may need encouragement to take this step of faith and
This year Back to Church Sunday (our Come & Join Us Sunday) will be happening not only across the denominations in our nation, but also in countries around the world including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and Argentina.
ST MARTIN'S .ALL WELCOMES EVERYONE TO OUR SERVICES ON SUNDAY 26th SEPTEMBER
'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.'
