On Sunday 22nd May St Martin’s was full to bursting for the 10am Sung Eucharist as the whole Church Team, family and friends, worshipped together in celebration of Ken’s forty years as a priest, and in thanksgiving for his sixteen years at St Martin’s and in the Team. All were there to thank him for his great gifts and to wish him a long and happy retirement.

A message from Ken and Sarah
My family and I were very moved to see so many friends, old and not-so-old, in St Martin’s on Sunday 22nd May for my farewell service as Rector. I was particularly grateful to all four Team Churches for agreeing to have a single Sunday morning service, which enabled us to worship en masse and to share together in a very happy occasion, if tinged with the inevitable sadness of saying goodbye.
We received so many very generous gifts from you all. They seemed to have a common theme of gardening, reclining, eating, and reading all with a glass of wine - just what I intend to be doing. Thank you for the gifts and for the kind words that went with them. Above all thank you for your friendship and love over 16 happy years.
We are not moving far away, and I’m sure we’ll be bumping into each other from time to time, not necessarily in church.
With love and best wishes
Ken and Sarah
