On Sunday 25th July we dedicated our new organ stop, the Zimbelstern, a wonderful addition and one that is very rare in this country. It has been paid for by a generous legacy and is a lovely way to help mark our church’s Centenary. The Zimbelstern is a musical instrument which rings small bells at random as an accompaniment to organ music. The word Zimbelstern means "cymbal-star" and the original ones were made in the shape of a star with small bells at each point. St Martin’s Zimbelstern has six bells.
